Garden Rooms - Great for those working from home
Garden rooms have been popular for a while as a way to gain extra space without directly extending your home. These structures are self-contained rooms, usually at the bottom of the garden that provides separate living space.
A garden room can be used for many purposes, such as an office or storage area but increasingly they are being built to accommodate someone working from home too. Having your own private space is good for productivity yet still having access to the rest of the house if needed means it won't feel like you're stuck in solitary confinement.
Benefits of having a garden room added to your garden as an office include:
- Ability to work in peace without disrupting family life
- You can travel between indoor and outdoor spaces which keeps you on the move, especially useful if it's nice outside!
- No oncoming traffic or distractions make for better concentration when in the flow.
- It's always nice to create a separate space in the house that is just yours with no distractions
- Not having to leave home makes you more productive and also reduces the chances of overworking or burning out if your day gets extended! (This can happen when working at home)
- There are however some important things to consider before you embark on your project:
- Make sure the room will be warm enough during cold months and cool in summer.
- Ensure there is a space for storage, it would be inconvenient to have no place to put things!
- Will you need to add further heating or cooling systems?
